Cadent™ iTero features parallel confocal imaging, which uses laser and optical scanning to digitally capture the surface and contours of the tooth and gingival structures.
Like your auto navigation system, the software indicates verbally and graphically how to capture the best images for the specific application in the most advantageous order. (For example, dentists and patients see and hear “Facial 45 degrees, view of 9”). If the dentist is capturing an occlusal image and requires enhanced details for margin accuracy, the dentist can add images that will be stitched in the final rendering of the 3D model. If the scanner detects movement, the image will not be captured.
The iTero scanner captures 100,000 points of laser light and has perfect focus images of more than 300 focal depths of the tooth structure. Parallel confocal scanning with iTero captures all elements and materials found in the mouth without the need for scanning powder and helps the clinician capture both supragingival and subgingival preparations.
